CROWSONG - The
Band

Randy Clark: Guitar, Vocals
Joshua
Zucker: Bass, Vocals
Dave Kaufman: Drums, Vocals
At the center of Randy's
expression is a blend of styles.
Though rooted in the blues, his playing relies heavily on Indian
classical music, rock, and jazz. His lead is complimented by the propulsive
drumming of Dave Kaufman. Joshua Zucker's steady bass playing completes the
sound.
CROWSONG owes its unique style
and drive to the diverse backgrounds of its members. Each of the members has been active in
various musical settings in the San Francisco Bay area.
When he's not busy playing with
CROWSONG, Randy Clark has picked and
strummed with some great San Francisco bands. He joined Jim Thomas for a stint
in the Mermen, and played with the Billy Nayer Show at the Sun Dance Film Festival.
His noisy film score work has been featured in trailers for the San Francisco
and Chicago independent film festivals, as well as a host of other twisted films.
He's taught hundreds of people to play music in the basement of Haight Ashbury
Music and at the Blue Bear School of American Music. Randy has also written
an instructional book (The Alternative Guitar Chord Book, 1996), and
a series of columns for Guitar Player magazine. He's studied music in India
and holds a Jazz Studies degree from Ithaca College. After seeing Martin Simpson
play slide guitar "about a hundred times(!)," Randy has emerged as a force in
modern guitar playing.
Joshua plays regularly
with Kenni Leigh Feinberg, Garrin Benfield, and Tony Perez
& Second Hand Smoke. Past projects include collaborations with Dr. Morbius,
Gakk, Matt
Forsythe & Van Cougar, Alex Skolnick and Tom Ross as well as commissioned
work for the Tisch School of the arts at NYU.
